Moldova has an unified licensing system based on the Law on Licensing Entrepreneurial Activity no. 451-XIV of 30 July 2001. The respective law has been adopted after the abrogation of Law no. 332 of 26 March 1999, and in accordance with its provisions entered into force after six months from the date of publication, namely on 6 March 2002.
Import licensing system is not intended to limit the quantity or value of imported goods. It is designed to provide up-to-date information on trade in goods of social or security interests. Licensing is considered to be the least expensive way to obtain such information.
In order to improve the regulatory mechanism through licensing of entrepreneurial activity by Government Decision no. 1068 of 22 October 2010, the Licensing Chamber has been implemented the procedure "single window".
