Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1587 of 24 September 2019 prohibiting the introduction into the Union of specimens of certain species of wild fauna and flora in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein.
Specimens of species listed in Annexes A-D of Reg 338/97 (retained EU law)
The Regulations implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Traders will be required to obtain the necessary import permits for specimens of species listed in the Annexes to Regulation 338/97. In the UK, permits are issued by the UK CITES Management Authority, the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
