Notification No.1116/2020
With reference to the power conferred under sub-section 19 (c) of Section 5 under the Conservation of Biodiversity and Protected Areas Law, the Forest Department declared the following species and associated sites to conserve wild flora that need to be protected from extinction, in accordance with the necessity of the State;
i. Completely Protected Wild Flora
(3) plant species
ii. Locally Protected Wild Flora
(15) plant species
The above measures aim to conserve wild flora for their sustainability and prevent extinction in accordance with the existing laws and regulations.
With the approval of the Ministry, the Forest Department may allow a person to collect, transport, or possess protected wild flora from the protected areas for the purpose of scientific research including experiment and reproduction. That person shall have already been permitted to conduct research.
