The purpose of this Act is to contribute to the sound development of the national economy, the promotion of national welfare and international efforts to minimize global warming by bringing stability to the supply of and demand for energy, increasing the rational and efficient use of energy, and reducing environmental damage caused by energy consumption.

Although this Act existed beforehand, it was included in the Integrated notice for the first time since 2015. The reason for this is due to the failure of the relevant ministry to notify this Act to the division responsible for the Integrated notice.
